Aaron Rodgers Throws First TD Pass with the Jets vs. Giants

Aaron Rodgers played in his second series with the New York Jets. Also, one of the game's highlights is his first TD pass with his new team. He threw a 14-yard TD pass to Garrett Wilson. Additionally, it was his preseason debut this year.

Following a first drive in which he completed three of five throws for 23 yards, Rodgers started the second drive by handing off to Michael Carter before overthrowing C.J. Uzomah. On third down, his pass to Wilson was incomplete. However, officials penalized Amani Oruwariye for pass interference. Thus, the ball moved to the Giants' 24.

With 8:23 remaining in the first quarter, Rodgers threw a 10-yard touchdown throw to Mecole Hardman and then found Wilson in the left corner of the end zone. According to sportsbook pay per head reports, Rodgers was replaced by Zach Wilson for the Jets' third offensive series after going 5 for 8 for 47 yards and a touchdown in his two series of work.

First TD Pass with the Jets

Before the annual exhibition game began between the two clubs who share MetLife Stadium, Rodgers sprinted onto the field for the first time in his white No. 8 Jets jersey and received a warm welcome from the "road" supporters.

With the ball on the Jets' 46 after a personal penalty on Zyon Gilbert of the Giants, Rodgers began the game by passing to Garrett Wilson for 10 yards on a short screen. On the Jets' second play from scrimmage, Rodgers threw a throw to Tyler Conklin for 14 yards, but a blindside block by Randall Cobb sent the ball back to the 38.

According to bookie pay per head sources, Rodgers' opening drive ended with two incompletions, the second coming after he dodged a sack attempt from recently acquired Isaiah Simmons and tossed the ball away. His first completion went for 6 yards to Garrett Wilson.

Rodgers has been expected to play a couple of series in the Jets' last preseason game before their season opener against Buffalo on September 11.
